Manheim Township Rise Against Hunger

We are proud to announce our Manheim Township Rise Against Hunger Event. Thank you to the youth/JV/varsity MT cheer and football programs and the MTHS marching band for your collaboration. We need everyone's help to package 10,000+ meals for children worldwide and a goal of 100 Thanksgiving meals for families in Lancaster County. There are numerous ways you can help.

1) October 18th at the MTHS cafeteria from 1-3pm we will be packaging meals with the nonprofit Rise Against Hunger (RiseAgainstHunger.org). They will orchestrate the supplies and transport the 10,000+ meals for children worldwide. Volunteers do this as an assembly-line. It is a very empowering event and easy for everyone of all ages to be involved. We need help to set up, package, and clean up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054AA8AE2FAAFBC34-58605815-manheim and then deliver meals locally for the Thanksgiving family meals we'll package from food drive donations: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054AA8AE2FAAFBC34-58677865-manheim

2) We need to raise the funds ($4,100) through donations to purchase the supplies and transport the meals to children worldwide. We can collect cash, checks (made out to Kindness Grows; may send to Kindness Grows, PO Box 5163, Lancaster, PA 17606-5163), or Venmo (@KindnessGrows)/PayPal (kindnessGrowsWithMe@gmail.com). Please write in the memo/comment which organization you are supporting- youth or JV/varsity. There is a competition to see which age range raises the most money. There will be a trophy presented to youth cheer/football or JV/varsity cheer/football and massive bragging rights. THANK YOU FOR SPREADING THE WORD AND DONATING.

3) Donations of non-perishable food items, specifically items that can be included in a Thanksgiving meal for families in Lancaster County. We will package these during the event on October 18th at the MTHS cafeteria. Please drop off these donations at the HS main office. Other donation sites will be provided shortly.

Finally, if you would like to help with this event, please email Kristen Bransby at KindnessGrowsWithMe@gmail.com. High school students can also join our new Kindness Grows Club offered during the club period.

Thank you in advance for helping us to make an impact worldwide and in Lancaster County. Let's be the reason kindness grows.

Kindly,

Coach Matthew and Kristen Bransby
